Building Bridges (things you don't normally get to see)

Here is prime example of why Diane and I sold it all and hit the road.

Staying at Aune Osborn Campground in Sault St. Marie Michigan, we got a special treat this morning. Around 9:30, there was a lot of activity outside our coach and we looked out to see a group of military ( Army National Guard)  vehicles pulling into the parking lot of the boat launch area beside the campground.  Some of the trucks were carrying boats and others were carrying what appeared to be some kind of tanks that would hold liquid.  The first question in my mind was how in the world do you get that big metal boat off the truck and into the water?
The military has arrived!

Well, it seems they have a very well designed system for launching them as shown in the following pictures.

All done and underway!
After launching 4 boats, the "tank" shaped things began moving into position.

I have heard and read about the military building bridges but I never dreamed they could do it like this!

Opening up!

Instant bridge section. Just add water!

Stick a few of these together and you've got a road!
After a while I remembered that my camera will shoot video.  After another bit, I figured out how to do it.  And after another even longer bit, I learned how to get it on You Tube so I could share it.  After all that, I hope you enjoy as much as I did!

Building Bridges

Now I'm wondering how in the world do they get all this stuff packed back up and loaded back on the trucks?  We had to leave so that one will have to wait until next time!
