Launch Day!

May 6, 2015

Well the day finally arrived.  After a friend's wedding a short cruise, Diane and I hit the road on May 5 at 9 a.m. right on schedule heading to the Outer Banks, New Hampshire, Maine, and Michigan!  It was hard to leave our friends in Georgia but we plan on being back in September to see my new grand baby.  We also have plans to hook up with Wes and Pam somewhere down the road so it's not good bye but rather see you later.

We have been stationary at Scenic Mountain RV Resort in Milledgeville Georgia for just a little over a year.  Butch has a nice place there and he continues to improve it.  If you are in the middle Georgia area and need a place to stay, it's a good stop.  The park is clean, paved roads, gravel sites, and the campers are not stacked on top of each other.
So we drove about 250 miles from Milledgeville to Little Pee Dee State Park near Dillon South Carolina.  Little Pee Dee is a no frills place with dirt roads, fairly level dirt pads, and lots of trees.  There are some spots with 30 amp electric and water and only a handful that would accommodate our beast.  It took a few maneuvers but we finally got parked and level.
A strange thing with this park is that the water and electric hook ups are located more toward the front of the spot than the rear.  It's not a problem but you need a long cord and hose to get hooked up.
We were pleasantly surprised to find good Verizon 4G signal because this place is out in the boonies and with all the trees, no chance of satellite TV.
The park has a small lake, boat rentals, and some hiking trails.  Kind of quiet, good place to relax place.
We are off again in the morning to a Speedco to get our Bus a little TLC in the form of some fresh oil, then we make our way on to Waves, NC on the Outer Banks.  Stay tuned!
